  3.  Welcome to Interactive Quarterly's Digizine,
  4. the first multimedia magazine covering digital erotica.

  14.  As you explore this CD Rom, your cursor will change to the IQ logo whenever
  15. you are over a spot you can click on.  In our features and reviews, words
  16. highlighted in blue will show a video clip, words highlighted in pink will
  17. show still pictures.  Also, the small pictures that accompany the text on our
  18. review screens can be enlarged by clicking on them.

  24. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
  25.  
  26. Windows95 should automatically install and startup this installation program.
  27. The file "inst_w95.exe" installs the Windows 95 version
  28. of the IQ Digizine CD-ROM.
  29.  
  30. The file "inst_w31.exe" installs the Windows 3.1 version
  31. of the IQ Digizine CD-ROM.  
  32.  
  33. Next, it will launch Apple's QuickTime for Windows 2.1.2 installer. 
  34. The QuickTime software is supports the digital video on this CD-ROM.
  35. If the QuickTime for Windows installer finds older versions of QuickTime,
  36. then allow the installer to remove these old versions for you.  
  37. This eliminates the often seen "DYNALINK" error.
  38. The Windows 3.1 QuickTime installer is "QT16inst.EXE."
  39. The Windows 95/Windows NT QuickTime installer is "QT32instEXE." 
  40.  
  41. This installation program first installs the IQD2 icon
  42. in the Program Manager Group, IQ Digizine.  
  43.  
  44. After completing this installation, you may need to double-click on
  45. the IQD2 icon to launch the IQ Digizine program.
  46.  
  47. The Windows 3.1 Digizine program is "IQD2_w31.EXE."
  48. The Windows 95/Windows NT Digizine program is "IQD2_w95.EXE."
  49.  
  50. PERFORMANCE COMMENTS:
  51. Screen transitions and sprite graphics animate best at 256 (8 bit) colors, 
  52. while QuickTime movies appear best at "Thousands" (16 bit) or "Millions" (32 bit) color.
  53. So, the best trade-off is to set the monitor at "Thousands".  
  54. IQ DIGIZINE is designed for a 640 x 480 pixel monitor display.
  55. Setting your monitor larger only uses up your system's VRAM and
  56. actually causes the imagery to appear smaller on your screen.
  57. So, a monitor setting of 640 x 480 at Thousands of colors is best.
  58.  
  59. Recommedations & Additional Information:
  60. * Be sure your Video Card driver has the latest version update.
  61.   To learn more about your computer's video display, open
  62.   Windows Setup found in Program Manager, Main.
  63. * Disable other programs when running the IQ Digizine program.
  64. * If you are low on RAM, try Control Panel: 386 Enhanced, 
  65.   Virtual Memory set to Permanent.

  67. RUNNING DEMOS:
  68. Many of the demos run best on their own, outside of the IQ Digizine program.
  69. In the "PCDEMOS" folder there are a number of folders with demos and samples
  70. that you can install and run from there.

  72. Some PC demos might use Microsoft's Video for Windows drivers.  If you do not have that
  73. software installed, run "wv1160.exe" included on this CD-ROM.
